10 weeks to 10K or 13.1 Miles

May 29 through August 5, 2017

A 10-week training program for people that can already run at least 3-5 miles or have been running at least 10-15 miles per week. This program is for runners that would like to take their running to the next level or distance. The goal race is the MAYC 10K or 1/2 Marathon on August 5, 2017. Participants will receive a 10-week training plan that includes 4-5 specific workouts the participants need to complete each week. The 9 weekly group meetings will include a 5-10 minute talk on a running topic; such as, dynamic stretching, static stretching, hydration, nutrition, safety, running form, etc. followed by the group run. These weekly group long runs will build from 3 miles (10K) and 5 miles (HM) up to 7 and 12 miles, respectively, and may include hills, tempo or pace work, and progressions. Leading you in this program is RRCA and USATF certified running coach, Joe Bails, M.S. Kinesiology and co-owner of Coach Bails Running, LLC
